WOW....guess I have been away from blogger for a while and I apologize for that! I have been spending some quality time with family and also finishing up a few personal projects from my "to do" list. Do you have one of those?....ha! But...I am happy to say that things are beginning to happen again here at the farm and I have my first new mouser offering up for your consideration.
This is Miss Maisy Mouser and she is surrounded by all her favorite vintage valentine treasures. This one-of-a-kind vignette was inspired by a pattern from one of my favorites...OLD ROAD PRIMITIVES.
This vignette measures 14 x 9 1/2 x 4 1/2. The mailbox is made of sturdy paper mache. It has been painted white over black, heavily sanded and then aged and sealed with my own special blend of paste wax giving it a wonderful old patina.
The "Be My Valentine" hangtag is hand embroidered osnaburg that has been aged and stiffened to hold its shape for years to come.
Miss Maisy stands 5 1/2 inches tall and is made of aged osnaburg. She is wearing her best red flannel dress and aged muslin apron. She is proudly showing off her valentine heart/sweet annie bouquet given to her by none other than her own "Mr. Wonderful." The mailbox is finished off with sweet vintage valentines from years gone by and muslin painted hearts lightly dusted with mica flakes.
