GOOD MORNING WORLD!!!!

Is your weather spring-like or are you covered in a blanket of dismal clouds and rainy weather or even possibly snow?  Unfortunately, here in the Northeast, we have not seen the beautiful signs of Spring.  But...not to lose hope, they are surely coming...just a little slow for most of us.  And Saturday, would you believe they are predicting snow?  Ugh!

Ok..I really didn't write to discuss the weather but have happier news.....  I just won a prize from the last giveaway over to HUNGRY HOOK PRIMITIVES and I just had to share!  Most of you already know Margie, but if you don't, I would take great pleasure in introducing you.  She is such a talented and generous soul in everything she does and is ready and willing to share a wealth of knowledge with you.  Take some time and check out her blog.  She not only has some beautiful hand dyed wool in wonderful prim colors but she offers rug-making kits and also some beautiful finished items.  If you have been interested in rug hooking then you will really be interested in the tutorials she offers for the inexperienced hooker.  You can visit her blog by clicking HERE .  Margie is also a member of another wonderful selling site over to PRIMITIVE HANDMADES MERCANTILE that updates with new, handmade items once a month.

I was very blessed to win a $15.00 gift certificate to use for anything that Margie has to offer on her blog and decided to put it toward some of her wool.  Here is a pic of what I just received:

I have to tell you, the picture does not do the colors much justice.  They are beautiful and I am excited to be able to incorporate them into some of my new offerings in the near future.  If you are looking to add to your stash, make sure to check out Margie's blog.  I can guarantee...you will not be disappointed in what you find there.

THANK YOU so much, Margie, for putting these bundles together for me.  The colors are just beautiful!!

Also, I would love to have to stop by my facebook page and give me a "LIKE".  I am close to 500 and will be offering a new giveaway when I reach my goal.  I would love to have you join in the fun!!!  Just click on the link found on the top right-hand corner of my blog.

Have a wonderful, blessed weekend!

hugs and smiles,

LOTS AND LOTS OF NEW THINGS GOING ON AT THE FARM....PLEASE READ ON.....

I know I have been missing for  while from blogger but I have plenty to share with you in an effort to catch up.

First of all, I owe a very big thank you to LECIA of FARMHOUSE PRIMS for an unsuspected RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS.  Back before Christmas she made a beautiful Mr. and Mrs. Santa set that I happened to see on her blog and I fell in love with them.  Well, beings it was that time of year, I reluctantly passed on them knowing that I still had lots of Christmas shopping to do for some very special people.  Well gosh....I went to the door the other day and there to my surprise was this big box.  Hmmm....the first thought that entered my head was that I hadn't ordered anything lately.  Well, oh my word, was I surprised when I opened the box and found the Mr. and Mrs. that I had drooled over months before laying in this box.  Sweet Lecia had thought of me in such a special way and now I can give the sweet couple a forever home.  Thank you soooooo much Lecia!  I am so touched by your sweet act of kindness.  Of course, I love them and will cherish them.

I also received a package from VICKY of PAINTSPOTS AND SPLINTERS this week.  I was blessed to win her sweet Rosabelle springtime bunny.  She is just adorable and I love her hot pink bow!!!  Makes me long for springtime thats for sure.  To my surprise, Vicky had included a couple other goodies in the box as well.  A tube of Sunshine Daisy body cream (which I love...it smells so good) and also the cutest little plant stake.  Thank you so much Vicky...your work is amazing and you certainly spoiled me!

Aren't they just the cutest!!!!  I hope you will take some time and stop by Vicky's etsy store and view all of her adorable handpainted items.  You can find them HERE

From time to time, I have had customers who share pics with me of how they decorate with their prim purchases and I thought I would share this one with you.  Jillian purchased my sweet springtime bunny, Winifred, which was listed on etsy and here is the pic she was sweet enough to send to me.......

Thanks so much for sharing, Jillian!  She looks right at home among your wonderful collection!

I have just listed a new pinkeep on etsy that I wanted to share....

This cute little keep would be the perfect gift for the pinkeep collector or would be great snuggled into that little cubby or sitting atop that prim shelf.  The keep is made of vintage drab green wool from an army blanket and is filled with crushed walnut shells to keep those pins and needles sharp.  There is also a vintage civil war era "bone" button attached.  If you are interested, you will find the link to my etsy shop on my right-hand sidebar.  If you do not have an etsy account, feel free to email me with any questions at grams1garden@yahoo.com.

Also, (this has been a busy month...ha) I have just joined a new etsy selling group called FOLKART AND PRIMITIVES.     I hope you will stop by and get acquainted with this wonderful group of artists.  Be watching as we will be having our first giveaway in just a few days.  To find us on etsy, just type FAAP in your etsy search bar.

AND LAST, I am so excited to say that I have joined a very talented group of artists from
EARLY WORK MERCANTILE and will be listing some new goodes on March 1st.  I hope you will plan to stop by and take a peek at all the wonderful artists and their beautiful handiwork.  I will have some new goodies for you...mice of course.....maybe an Amish mouser or two and some sheep with their prim carts.

THANKS FOR POPPING IN!!!!

  hugs,
Carol

WINTER AND........A WONDERFUL SWAP WITH THERESA

Don't you just love the look of new fallen snow!  I thought I would share this picture of our backyard.  We have been under a winter weather advisory since yesterday evening.  Luckily we were not hit as hard as other areas near Lake Michigan and further East towards New York.  I don't mind saying that I will be hibernating for a while...heehee!

I also wanted to share some pictures of a swap that THERESA from DULANEY WOODS TREASURES and I did.  We both mailed our boxes this week but she won't get hers until tomorrow.  I am doing the happy dance and you will see why when you see the pics!  I opened up the box and this is what I found.......

Oh my gosh....I was like a kid at Christmas, tearing into each beautifully wrapped package.

Theresa made the Santa ornie from  pattern by "With Thy Needle and Thread."  It is done in punch needle fashion and she has it wrapped so special in a cellophane bag with  festive Christmas top.  This will have a special place on my new Santa Tree that I did this past Christmas.

Theresa made this adorable little reindeer using a TFC Folkart pattern.

I love pinkeeps and Theresa did this one in a beautiful blue and the pattern is from "The Primitive Hare."

Isn't this little pumpkin girl just adorable!  I am in love with her.  Theresa made her using a pattern by TFC Folkart.  Her stem is actually from one of Theresa's pumpkins that she picked last fall.

Oh yes.....did I tell you this was a picture heavy post...heehee!  There is more.....

Theresa sent me two great patterns (which by the way, I didn't already have in my stash.)  One is a Christmas pattern by Sweet Meadows Farm and a witchy pattern by Soft in the Head.  AND a sweet prim notepad.  LOVE those notepads.

AND.....

this wonderful Noblewoman's pouch that she made from a "Threadwork Primitive" pattern.  This is a new prim goodie for me and I am in  L-O-V-E!!!  It is just beautiful with all the delicate cross stitching on the front.

Theresa made this WONDERFUL halloween pillow using a pattern by "Buttermilk Basin."  My picture just does not do it justice.  I wish you could see all the border fabrics and the detail to this stitchery.  It is really amazing.

AND LAST..........

this amazing black Santa and his little reindeer made using a TFC Folkart pattern.  Theresa knows that I just LOVE black Santas and this one is sooooo special!  I can't say enough about the detail and beautiful workmanship that Theresa puts into each one of her creations.

Each one of my packages was wrapped with one of these cute halloween ornies made from yummy smelling cinnamon!  (I think it is time to do a Halloween tree this year...ha!)

SO...grab yourself another cup of your favorite beverage and hop on over to Theresa's blog and make sure to get yourself signed up for her ONE YEAR BLOGIVERSARY CELEBRATION.  It will be ending on Feb. 17th so don't miss out.  And you will also want to check out all her prim goodes she is offering in her Etsy store, DULANEY WOODS TREASURE.  You won't be sorry!  Theresa's work is exquisite!

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT weekend!!!

hugs,
Carol

JUST POPPING IN TO WISH ALL MY WONDERFUL BLOGGER FRIENDS A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR......AND SOME MORE PICTURES TO SHARE...

So what you are plans for 2013?  Have you already made some New Year resolutions?  I must say that I have.  I bought a new treadmill last summer and need to get back at it.....it needs a better use than just collecting dust...ha!   Lose a pound or two (preferrably two) and walk myself to a healthier me.  Thus is the plan and I intend to carry it out.

Well, as I mentioned, I have several pictures I want to share.  Right before Christmas I found out that I had won the Blog Hop that was sponsored by Carly of Boggy Bottom Bayou.  Oh my goodness, I thought..another win.  Now I have NEVER considered myself to be a "lucky" person when it comes to the draw...NOT ever....but for some reason the month of Dec. was very good to me.  Anywho, as I was saying...here are some pictures of the Christmas goodies that I received from some very talented artists who most of you probably already know by their amzing artistic abilities.

These awesome ornies are made by Carly of BOGGY BOTTOM BAYOU.  Each is unique and adds wonderful bling to the tree.  When the lights are on they outshine themselves.

And as luck would have it, she reached her new follower goal so I also received this amazing Santa in a  wonderful, vintage style quilt jacket.  His face is delightful and is definitely in keeping with the unique Boggy Bottom creative style.

I also received this darling reindeer pillow from my very dear friend, Jody of SWEET BEAR CREEK WHIMS.  It is just adorable!  I am blessed to own several of Jody's creations and I must tell you that her eye for detail and her workmanship are among some of the best I have seen anywhere.

Another box arrived from Lee Ann of CHARMED CONFECTIONS.  Now what can I say about Lee Ann's goodes except your mouth will be drooling cause he confections look good enough to eat!!  Two of my grandchildren were with me when her box came.  They were so taken with her "not so edible" creations that I ended up letting them each take one home for their tree....ha!  Now how could any Nana worth her salt ever say "no" to a  grand...lol!

Now tell me I am wrong...don't they just look good enough to eat!

I also received this wonderful snowman ornie from Brenda of THE RUSTY THIMBLE. And, by the way, this is her own original design and it is adorable.  If you are not familiar with Brenda you are truly missing out.  She is continually giving away wonderful handmade goodies on her blog to lucky  winners.  I am not at all surprised that she also participated in this one.  She just has that kind of heart!

And from Mary of THE MARY BELL, I received this adorable teeny knitty bitty knit couture Santa Sweather set to hang on my tree.  I am surprised a little elf didn't snatch it up sometime during the night....maybe like one of the "elf on the shelf" guys running around everywhere this Christmas!  ha!  Mary does a wonderful job of repurposing and reusing lots of goodes in her creative endeavors.

From Nicoletta of NIKY'S CREATIONS I received this wonderful cross-stitch pocket with a tiny reindeer and Christmas tree on the front.  Her work is just beautiful!  And her blog is dedicated to all things stitched.  This little pocket is just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak.  Be SURE to visit her blog and be amazed at her beautiful workmanship!  You will be drooling for sure!

Oh yes, and I didn't that there was a little tea bag tucked inside!  Such attention to detail :-)

And last, this  little Angel ornie made by Hope of HOPE RYEL HOMEMADE DOLLS.  Hope has a wonderful style all her own and is evident in this beautiful doll with the tiny, delicate features.  Her use of vintage items is perfect!  She will be a cherished heirloom, for sure.

Warmest of hugs to each of you for donating a piece of your artwork to the blog hop.  They have a forever home with me!

I hope you will stop by and visit each of these ladies and check out the beautiful goodes they have to offer.

New Year blessings to each of you!

Carol
