Last week was a dream come true for me. I finally got to meet my blogging friend, Mary, of
MARMMIES MAMMYS AND MORE. Left to right: Myself and Mary.
Here we are with our Mr. Wonderfuls: Mary's fiance, Mark and my hubby Jerry.
Anywho....she and Mark made the trip to Indiana and met up with Jerry and I at the McKinley House in Middlebury. Let me start by telling you that Mary is every bit as sweet as her emails and more. She is such a kind, gentle soul. I had such a great time getting to know her better.
We both made goodies for each other to share at our meeting and here is what Mary brought for me: The witch is adorable! She has a little pouch that carries her little kitty. Mary's work is just to die for!
This witch is just amazing!!! I don't think my picture does her enough justice. And here is another picture of the pumpkin couple that she also brought to me. They are adorable, don't you think? And this is Mary's own original pattern. If you get the chance to check out some of Mary's handiwork, trust me when I say that you won't be disappointed.
Here is a picture of the McKinley House where we stayed for two and a half days. Such a beautiful bed and breakfast. Very quiet and secluded and only minutes away from Shipshewana in beautiful Amish country. It was the perfect place to meet and relax.
We did lots of sightseeing, ate at great restaurants , shopped at quaint little stores, at more, shopped more, ate....you get the idea...heehee! I think we did more eating than anything else, but how can you pass up all the homemade Amish goodes (and samples.) ha!
Here is a picture of my favorite primitive store in Shipshewana, "A Thankful Heart", owned by my good friend, Sue. It is full of wonderful eye candy. If you go in to take a peek, you won't come out empty handed. I think it is Mary's favorite store now, too...heehee!
And last, one of the buggies parked at the General store.
Well, after a short 2 1/2 day visit, we finally went our separate ways and headed home. I already miss Mary but know my life is richer having met her. Mary is very fond of the Amish and their way of life. If you share her enthusiasm, be sure to watch for her post. I am sure it will be picture heavy.
AND MY WISH FOR THE FUTURE.....well to make this an annual visit, of course.
Thanks for popping in and have a great week!
hugs and smiles,
Carol
